The administration office of the Hazar reserve is located on the quay of Turkmenbashi city, in a very picturesque place. A famous museum of nature is situated here. Thousands of our citizens and visitors from other countries visit it annually. A great amount of the highly artistic displays are exhibited in the museum: various representatives of flora and fauna of this territory are located on large landscape panorama; polished samples of the most valuable wood sparkle; there is a map of reserves Paleo-Arctic Zone. It also includes a large composition "Red Data Book of Turkmenistan", in the marqueterie style; a set of unique large-scale colored enamels: cyan goat-fish, multi-colored diving and river ducks, sandpipers, eagles, caracal, giant-lizard, graceful but very dangerous poisonous snakes: Central Asian cobra and Echis multisquamatus, sturgeon, stellate sturgeon and the Caspian herring, famous all over the world, as well as many other inhabitants of the Reserve. The museum has a unique scientific collection, and "accompanying" us in our trip around the reserve the wise statements of our great poet Magtymguly Fragy help us to understand and to appreciate the beauty of Nature, which is outside the windows of this man-created world of beauty.

In 2008-2009 with the support of Hazar project, the reserve museum started getting the renovated appearance. In 2008, minor repairs and redecorations has been applied in the museum; museum employees have received the newest audio-video equipment to show various ecological films and educational videos clips. In 2009, Hazar project has commenced large-scale work on major overhaul and updating of the museum exposition. It is expected, that by the end of this year the museum will get modern and somewhat unique exterior.
