Ashgabat, 16 November. UN Development Program Project “Conservation and sustainable use of globally significant biological diversity in Hazar Nature Reserve on the Caspian sea coast” jointly implemented with the Global Environmental Facility and the Ministry of Nature Protection at the beginning of November in Ashgabat held a training seminar on “Training of trainers”.
The objective of the training was to train trainers to modern techniques of teaching such as interactive method which they can apply at the forthcoming trainings for the staff of Hazar state reserve. Development of teaching skills and organization of trainings for the staff of Hazar state reserve is considered as one of the priority tasks of the project.
Participants of the training were specialists of the National institute of desert, flora and fauna of the Ministry of nature protection and specialists of state reserves of Turkmenistan involved in the issues of biological conservation and management of state reserves. Experienced trainers invited to the training introduced modern methods of interactive teaching with the usage of Power point program, the main principles of working with the adult audience and application of SWOT analysis which helps to identify strong and weak points of various training programs.
In the course of the training participants were given opportunity to make a presentation at the end of which they could discuss the quality of each other’s presentation. Also, during the training time and thematic options of the planned trainings for the staff of Hazar state reserve were discussed. Opinion of the participants’ will duly be taken into account when developing the final plan of trainings.
After completion of the training all the participants were awarded certificates of successful completion of the training course. The representatives of MNP and UNDP of Turkmenistan took part at the ceremony of awarding certificates.
